Monday Morning

Well, it is Monday morning and so much has happened in the past 10 days. Thought I would update everyone this way instead of sending a million individual emails.
First...here is our information again. Phones, email and address are all up and running. I am going to include it again in an email in case you do not feel you have the correct information!
Thanks for the snail mail. Girls have been thrilled to get things in the mailbox. They actually made a gift for our mail carrier and left it today for her....too cute!

So, the drive was uneventful as mentioned in the previous blog. The movers came Monday instead of Saturday. 4 things were broken and we are filing a claim for those. Most disappointing was our dining table leg is broken. Should be repairable bur should NOT have happened. Also a cane rocking chair looks like someone put their foot through the cane. Will be costly to fix! An office chair from Kipper's office and a mirror were the other items. Not great, but we will survive!
Boxes are 95% done, things are in place. New furniture arrived today. Bedroom stuff for us and two chairs for the family room. Need a cheap sofa for the game room and that is it!

Got Washer and Dryer (fancy upright HE kind...they are cool!) a new fridge like our old one in SA but with water on the outside and a new cook top (gas) for the kitchen. Problem is the owner told us three times there was gas in the kitchen and guess what.....no gas! We are in the process of getting bids for a gas line and will negotiate with her as to who will pay! Likely will not be us!!!

This week was a busy one. It took us a longer time than we thought to unpack. We talked about it and main reason is because there is actually a place for EVERYTHING! Storage and closets and places for all the little things even....it is so great. As a result, the process took longer...the last move was simply leaving 50% in boxes in the garage safe!

Guest room is up and ready for a visitor...HINT HINT! I have a good friend coming the 19th, can't wait......who will be next???????? book your room at the Burke Hotel and Suites now!! Spring Break too, several have said they would like to come, I need to schedule on a first come first booked!!!!!! Lots of room for everyone. And for those of you allergic to cats, we are keeping the Guest Room closed from the cats. They are not allowed up there. (they have lots of room to roam without it)

OK, that is all I can think of at this sitting. Once we have the rest of the boxes gone from the living spaces, I will take new photos with our things and post those. Please stay in touch. I am anxious to hear how every one's new years eve's were and trips to the various places etc. Kids love mail and email so send away! Use my email for them too!

Bookmark or add to your favorites this blog address too and check in regularly. I will be writing regularly my events and posting photos!

Happy New Year to All!

Hello, friend! I am glad to learn you guys are getting settled. Callie lost her 2nd tooth last night. She is officially a toothless fairy!! Everett desperately wants to crawl, and I am working like mad to not let him. I have not gotten a portrait of him yet, and he is scheduled for one next week with Natalie Matthews. Anyway...Isaac had preschool today, but boy was it hard to get out of the house after days of lounging in our PJs. I took a break to read email while I was finishing up the Christmas decoration clean-up. I hope the girls' first day goes beautifully. I remember changing schools, and I always feared those social times...lunch, playground, etc when you have not made those new connections. I hope all is well. Hugs! Kasey

Yea! Sounds like you're settling in nicely. Jeanne is coming to visit this afternoon and to spend the night...we're going to call you later to see how the first day of school was for the girls.

MISS YOU!
